Writing the Future
What does it mean to endure? That is the question that has followed us around throughout the progression of the course. So far, I have established my goal of becoming a filmmaker, then I have committed myself to the task of making a short film to prove I have the skills necessary to write, direct, and produce a movie. Now we had to create a step-by-step guide to achieve our goal. As high school is ending in terms of the Hero's Journey, I am crossing the threshold, exiting my ordinary world, and stepping into a new chapter of my life. We met with an ultra-marathon runner for this unit and discussed the physical endurance he chose to put himself through. His goals include climbing the tallest peaks in the United States. We also had to put together our own independent FEs. Though not related to filmmaking, I chose to drive around for an hour with my mom to get over my fear of going. I decided to write a survival guide/memoir about being a filmmaker for this final Action Project.
After taking this class, to endure means to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Making plans and setting goals can help one endure a task set to complete. They
