Just a lover

For our final AP for Shakespeare, we had to create a playlist for the tragedy, Romeo & Juliet. While reading this play we also watched the 1996 adaption with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio. The quote "These violent delights have violent ends," from Friar Lawrence is the best summary of the play.

Romeo & Juliet. Shakspeare's most infamous tragedy. The tale of two star-crossed brought together by chance and torn apart by their family feuds. Romeo was born in the Montague house and Juliet was born to the Capulets. After knowing each other for less than a day they decide to marry, while Juliet is also promised to marry Paris. Because of the conflicts between the two families shortly after Romeo kills Tybalt Capulet, Juliet's cousin, he is banished from Verona. With Romeo exiled to Mantua, Juliet plans to fake her death to escape her planned marriage to Paris. News that Juliet died reaches Mantua and Romeo goes to her grave to "be with her." There he and Paris duel and Paris dies. Having killed him, Romeo poisons himself and dies beside an awakening Juliet. When she finds her dead husband, Juliet stabs herself with his dagger.
