A 12 Hour Short Film
Our final Humanities course for Senior Year is called Endurance. In this class, we talk about what it means to endure. To me, to endure is to stick something out and see it to fruition. For the first half of class, we visited the Holocaust Museum in Skokie and Night by Elie Wiesel as an example of spiritual and physical endurance as the genocide against the Jews was committed. Examples of physical endurance included watching magician David Blaine train himself to be able to hold his breath underwater for 17 minutes and Ernest Shackleton's journey attempted journey to circumnavigate Antarctica. After that, we tested our own physical endurance in class by holding ice cubes in our hands. We quickly realized how competitive we all were and how neither wanted to be the first to let go. For this Action Project, we had to pick a task we were passionate about and stick to that goal for 12 hours. Since I am interested in becoming a film producer, director, or cinematographer, I decided to create a short film called "Where I Am Currently At." This film represents how I feel as senior year is wrapping up and enduring burnout.

"Where I Am Currently At"
Overall, I had fun making the short film. However, there are the extremely bad issues I had with tech. I admittedly was not very knowledgeable about it. But, for this being my first technical film, I enjoyed it! It gave me insight into what my role was as a director, cinematographer, editor, and actor. After this, I think I'd rather be behind the camera than in front of it.
