Films During Covid-19

For Civic term, in continuation with the Career Prep course we took during the fall term where we had to go through the process of writing a cover letter and creating a resume to apply for a job. This term I spent three weeks with the Gene Siskel Film Center, working remotely from home, as an intern to the Director of Community Engagement and Media, Lori Hile. Throughout the three weeks I would do research of groups to promote upcoming movies to potential partners. Along with creating Facebook events. I was able to form a promotional partnership between the film center and the Chineses-American Museum of Chicago for the film, Finding Yingying. I also got to sit on team meetings with the Communications team and form a connection with the director of a Q&A I was helping to moderate for the film We Are Unarmed. Overall this experience really helped me get out of my comfort zone and become familiar other groups and organizations around Chicago. This experience also made enthusiastic about wanting to go into film.
