Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion

During the Spring term the sophomore class switched gears from Disease to Cure for our STEAM courses. During our first unit we focused on what it means to be a healer and a doctor, the Hippocratic Oath, and . We also researched the types of surgeries and cell life. We also got to talk with medical professionals Kellee Athens, about Zika research, and Dr. Neeraj Jain, about being an anesthesiologist. For our first AP of the term, we had to conduct an interview with someone we knew who had to have a sort of surgery performed and then create a story using the information we gathered from it. I chose to interview a relative I knew who had an Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion.
