Banned Books Analysis

During our final unit of Forbidden Books, as a class, we took a focus on the topic of diversity. For our action project we conducted a research essay about how issues with diversity affect book-banning. We had to identify the types of challenges books had while being challenged and if they were for reasons like, politics, diversity, and/ or religion. Many of the reasons why The Outsiders was deemed as problematic may center around issues of diversity and religion and seen as "unorthodox."
